FIND YOUR BEACH

With a wide variety of experiences and almost 100 access points, you might be hard-pressed to decide where to sink your toes in the sand. Locals and visitors often have their favorite beach access points. Don’t want to pack a cooler? Access the beach in an area near beachfront restaurants. Want a little more privacy? You may consider a stop away from the crowds. Whatever is on the agenda for the day, there’s beach access to meet your needs.

EXPLORE BEACH FRONT STATE PARKS

Surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, St. Andrews Bay, and the Grand Lagoon, St. Andrews State Park is a fun destination for kids and adults. Well-maintained and easily accessible, the park is a prime locale for camping, fishing, canoeing, and biking thanks to its lush trails. Fish from a pier, spot an alligator or snorkel along the jetties, where you’ll spot young fish and blue crabs. When it’s all said and done, stop by the park store for ice cream, and you may even spot a resident deer.

Nature lovers won’t want to leave Camp Helen State Park featuring a broad spectrum of Gulf Coast flora and fauna in its 180-plus acres. The park is bordered by the gulf, the Phillips Inlet, and Powell Lake, a coastal dune lake, the largest in Florida. Before visiting, pack a pair of flip-flops for the white sandy beaches and hiking boots for the wooded trails.

FRANK BROWN PARK

Over two hundred acres dedicated to outdoor recreation facilities at neighborhood and community parks surrounding the beaches. The playgrounds, picnic areas, saltwater fishing pier, freshwater youth fishing lake, greenways and trails are open to the public year round and are free from sunrise to sunset.

ST. ANDREWS STATE PARK

Those wanting to relax can sunbathe on the beach or enjoy a leisurely lunch under the shade of a picnic pavilion. Full-facility campsites, as well as primitive youth group camping, make this park a popular overnight destination. A concession offers snacks, souvenirs, and fishing amenities. Shell Island Boat Tours are available during the spring and summer.

CAMP HELEN STATE PARK

The park is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico and by Lake Powell, the largest coastal dune lake in Florida. This 180-acre park is for day use only. Activities include swimming, beachcombing, nature study, hiking, and both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
